It’s a Frank Matcham-designed theatre somewhere in the British Isles. But where? Photo credit: Liz Ryan

Behind-The-Scenes Content For My Paid Subscribers And Super Fans. Thank you all!

Did you know that there’s an island just off the coast of Britain that once rivalled in visitor numbers and attractions any in Europe? It’s a real place where they speak English (mostly) and where King Charles III is head of state. But they have never been part of the United Kingdom, their highest mountain shares a name with an Icelandic volcano, they are outside the jurisdiction of the EU, have their own currency, believe in fairies (or pretend they do) and the top income tax rate is a dreamy 20 per cent, with no questions asked — at least not very many — and no capital gains.

Oh, and the cats on this island don’t have tails.
