My lockdown was recently brightened by a Zoom chat with playwright Mike Kenny.

Mike, whose decades-long writing career has earned him a clutch of major awards, adapted Edith Nesbitt’s novel The Railway Children for York Theatre Royal. The runaway star of that memorable 2008 production was a working steam train — a coup de theatre which saw the play staged successfully all round the world.
